HYPERDRINK 90 - HIGH-CARBOHYDRATE DRINK

HyperDrink 90 is a high-quality powdered high-carbohydrate drink, ideal for athletes who need an effective source of energy during long training sessions or competitions. One 500 ml serving provides 90 g of carbohydrates plus extra sodium (208 mg), both key elements to enhance performance.

BENEFITS OF THIS HIGH-CARBOHYDRATE DRINK

HyperDrink 90 contains the optimal mix of carbohydrates, Maltodextrin and Fructose, in a 1.25:1 ratio (commonly known as 1:0.8), as supported by science. Studies show that in prolonged exercise, using carbohydrates absorbed via different intestinal transporters (GLUT) is the only way to increase the assimilation and oxidation rate of exogenous carbohydrates beyond 60 g/hour (Currell, K. et al., MSSE. 2008; Earnest, C.P. et al., JSCR. 2004). Research indicates that combining a glucose source (maltodextrin) with fructose is ideal. Why use the 1.25:1 (1:0.8) ratio instead of 2:1 or others? Because recent research shows that this ratio achieves the maximum oxidation of exogenous carbohydrates, ensuring maximum energy efficiency from consumed carbs. This is crucial when high carbohydrate intake is required in small fluid volumes (90 g / 500 ml), ensuring most of it (74% efficiency) is converted into energy without causing gastrointestinal distress (Rowlands, D.S. et al., SM. 2015).

ADVANTAGES OF MALTODEXTRIN IN A HIGH-CARBOHYDRATE DRINK

Scientific literature shows maltodextrin is the best source when seeking high efficiency in glucose use, especially for high-carb intakes in small volumes. It allows higher oxidation of exogenous carbohydrates compared to other glucose sources like cyclodextrin (Cluster Dextrin®) or isomaltulose (Palatinose®). While Cluster Dextrin® may help reduce gastrointestinal issues due to osmotic properties, it lacks evidence of higher energy efficiency. Isomaltulose contains both glucose and fructose but shows 41% lower energy efficiency than sucrose (Achten, J. et al., JN. 2007).
Also, maltodextrin’s larger molecular size reduces the mixture's osmolality, minimizing gastrointestinal distress during heavy carbohydrate intake (Rowlands, D.S. et al., SM. 2022).Conclusion: While glucose and maltodextrin have similar energy efficiency, maltodextrin is better osmotically. It also contributes less sweetness, which is preferred in this product.Summary: For high-carb products consumed during exercise, the goal is maximum energy efficiency and minimal gastrointestinal issues. Current research confirms this is achieved only by combining Maltodextrin and Fructose in a 1.25:1 ratio (or 1:0.8) (Rowlands, D.S. et al., SM. 2022).

SODIUM IN HYPERDRINK 90 HIGH-CARBOHYDRATE DRINK

To complete the formula, we added sea salt as a source of Sodium (Na). Sodium is the most important electrolyte during physical activity since it’s the one most lost through sweat and is essential for hydration (Panel NDA. EFSA Journal. 2011). The added amount fits within the range that optimizes water and carbohydrate absorption in the intestines (Shi, X. et al., IJSNEM. 2010; O’Brien, W.J. & Rowlands, D.S., AJPGLP. 2011).

Perfect solubility!

Many drinks of this kind on the market suffer from poor solubility or become unstable over time. After selecting the best raw materials and running several tests, we developed a product with perfect solubility: it dissolves in minutes and remains stable over hours.

No flavor!

Designed for maximum effectiveness in energy and digestion, this high-purity product has no added flavor. It only has a subtle natural sweetness from fructose. It contains no flavorings, preservatives, sweeteners, colorings, or any other additives.Flavors: Neutral.Format: Single-dose sachets of 93.1 g and 1.49 kg tubs (16 servings). 2 scoops = 93.1 g.Technical details: - Osmolality: 817 mOsmol/kg - Osmolarity: 725 mOsmol/l - pH: 5.52
