The studies carried out in terms of sports nutrition are increasingly numerous and produce a wide range of findings. In our collaboration with the journal Exercise Physiology in the Sports Nutrition Section we published a series of research summaries, the latest articles are the following:

  • The intake of nitrates increases the muscle nitrate content. This research found that nitrate intake increases both plasma and muscle nitrate levels in humans. Read article here.
  • Mouthwash with carbohydrate solution: effects on aerobic strength and endurance. As it appears in the following article, previous studies have not found effects of CHO rinse on muscle strength and endurance. What does the latest research show?  Read article here.

  • Nutritional periodization in competition microcycle: Most aerobic endurance athletes do not follow patterns of nutritional micro-periodization. Find out the results after the implementation of a nutritional periodisation in a microcycle of preparation for competition, in runners and racewalkers, men and women. Read article here.

We will continue to collaborate with Exercise Physiology to report and share research in the Sports Nutrition section.
