Energy gels give you quickly assimilated carbohydrates during effort. Choose 30 g when you spread out more intakes or train lightly/moderately (→ HyperGel 30 Hydro), and 45 g for long or intense efforts with a higher grams/hour target (→ HyperGel 45). If you don't want to carry water, choose the Hydro; if you drink with an isotonic, the classic gel is a great option (→ Energy Gel). Caffeine can help you in key moments (end of race or intensity peaks).
How often should I take it?
Start with Energy Gel (30 g). It is the standard for most people and makes it easier to tolerate. Once tested, you can move on to HyperGel 45 if you are looking for fewer intakes per hour, or to HyperGel 30 Hydro when you cannot drink water.
With or without caffeine?
Caffeine can help at key moments (end of race or peaks of intensity). It is not mandatory; if you are sensitive, avoid or use less. Try it beforehand in training.
How to combine with isotonic drink?
If you take isotonic, you might need a little less gel so as not to exceed total carbohydrates per hour. On hot days, also watch the sodium.
Hydro vs classic gel
The Hydro (30 g) can be taken without water, useful when you don't have access to drinks. The classic gel (30 g) works very well with water or isotonic drink. Choose according to your race logistics and tolerance.
We can add ingredients that we know help us maintain or improve performance during sports practice; however, we cannot add them 'recklessly' because they could otherwise have the opposite effect, that is, decrease performance, potentially even leading to having to abandon the race or training. That is why at Crown Sport Nutrition we rely on science to formulate our Energy Gel.
FAQs
When do I take it?
Initially, 1 gel every 30–45 min. Adjust based on sensations and hydration. If you tolerate it well, progress with practice.
When to choose HyperGel 45 (45 g)?
In long efforts or when you prefer fewer intakes per hour and you already tolerate 30 g well.
Hydro or classic?
Hydro if you are not going to drink; classic if you accompany with water/isotonic.
With or without caffeine?
Optional. Use it at key moments if you tolerate it; try it in training.
Can they cause digestive discomfort?
The formulation and texture are designed to facilitate tolerance, but the response is individual. Practice your routine in test runs.

Some of the best ingredients are:
- Minerals, better known as electrolytes or salts, especially sodium (Na), which is the one we lose through sweat and is essential to prevent dehydration. Other minerals that you can find in our gel are potassium (K), chlorine (Cl) and magnesium (Mg). Added in highly bioavailable salts, such as Magnesium Citrate.
- Caffeine, since its ergogenic effect is well demonstrated and therefore its performance-enhancing effect: it delays the feeling of fatigue, improving contraction
muscular, optimizing the use of fat as an energy source and stimulating at the mental level. - Amino acids, such as branched-chain or BCAA (Leucine, Isoleucine, and Valine) since they can be used by the muscle as a source of energy, which delays fatigue. They also minimize muscle wear caused in long-distance disciplines.
The Taurine because it favors the transport of water and nutrients within the muscle cell.
The Arginine that promotes oxygen transport and the elimination of toxins. Also, being a glucogenic amino acid, the muscle can use it as an additional source of energy.
It is for all of this that we have developed Energy gel, a “technical gel” with the best and most effective ingredients. In addition to a fluid texture that you will have no trouble swallowing. And you can find it in versions with and without caffeine.See product on Amazon.
And remember that you should never try a product in a race that you haven't tried before in training.
